Bringing Busy Families Back to the Table

A Family Company

We are no different than any other family in this country. We are super busy. With seven children in our house, rest assured, everyday we’re hustling. Always striving to be Supermom, dinner time has always been a source of stress for me. The second those kids get off the school bus and come bounding through the door they inevitably ask; “Mom, what’s for dinner?” Those four words illicit a stress response in me one would liken to being chased by a black bear. My pits start to sweat, my heart begins to pound, and every muscle in my body tenses as I struggle to answer their question. Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, for drama, but you get the picture. Ninety percent of the time, like so many other busy moms out there, I am caught with my pants down. Most evenings during the week, we are busy shuffling the kids to various activities for hours. And while I am well aware that I cannot starve my children, my options for feeding their sweet faces with real, nourishing food are very limited while on the road. Either I can purchase some frozen pizza from the grocery store, spend a ton of money taking them out to eat, or hit a drive thru. And that my friends, is when the “mom guilt” sets in.

You see, I know what kinds of foods are nourishing fuel for busy families. I know about the additives and preservatives that our food supply is riddled with. I know how important it is for families to spend time together at the dinner table. In fact, our kids regularly ask us if we can have family dinner. I believe it strengthens families to share a meal together. I have spoken with countless parents on the sidelines and in the bleachers who struggle with great anxiety and stress surrounding feeding their families. Parents who are in the trenches, working all day and moonlighting  in the evenings as their kid’s personal chauffeur. It is these seemingly universal struggles that became the catalyst for starting What’s For Dinner?.

Our mission here at What’s For Dinner? is to alleviate stress and to bring your busy family back to your dinner table. Imagine how much easier life would be if you no longer had to plan a menu, make a trip to the grocery store or cook dinner. Think of the comfort you’d feel from knowing that the meals your family is eating are fresh, real, delicious food. Let us do all the work for you, and then you can focus on whats really important- family.
